Nothing new in this part of the world

Nothing new has really happened, that's why I haven't updated the blog. Last week's Dr Who episode was good, as usual. This week's episode looks even better though :)

The Cisco project is on a hold due to other more urgent issues, and that mainly being the hurry to find cheap airplane tickets and book 'em while I still can select a pretty specific day for departure and arrival. I'm getting one more offer tomorrow, but for now, the cheapest tickets cost a little bit over 1380e.

Don't really have anything else to tell, other than I've been watching a lot of documentaries. And that one of my cousins has graduated and another one has just finished high school. So I'm heading out to their "party" on Saturday.

First real day of vacation

It's been a pretty good day. Been just watching TV, barbecueing some sausages and of course making the Cisco project. I think I'm almost done with creating the blueprints. It's a little bit unclear that should I add the other building to it as well, but I think it's good enough. I have 2 floors to cover after all, although the 2nd floor (which is the 3rd floor) is tiny. There are still lots of class rooms to cover, and the point was that it has to be bigger than a normal private house, and it is. I'm hoping that I could finish this project next week, but we'll see. It would be good to at least get most of the work done by the end of next week.

Last week's Dr Who episode was brilliant and the story continues this week. It had a classic Dr Who cliffhanger in the end, and the story had a creepy and dark atmosphere. It somehow reminded me of the old Dr Who stories. I also recommend to watch the Dr Who Confidential shows, those shows give a good insight on the whole making of Dr Who process.

On the gaming front, finally the Postal 2 expansion, Apocalypse Weekend, has arrived. I haven't played it yet, but at least Dig liked it. The other game I have but haven't tried is Boiling Point: Road To Hell, which graphically looks pretty good, but that's about all I can say.

All of those + documentaries keep me quite busy, although I should get some time to just be around and not really do anything. Even the Benedict monks know that silent moments are important for spiritual growth. Although I don't believe in God and so forth, it's still relaxing and refreshing.

That's all for know, cheerio.

It is done

I did my last exam today, and already got the grade for it too. So I'm on a summer vacation now. I do have that Cisco assignment to do, but there's no deadlines or anything so there's no rush. However I'll start looking into it on the weekend or on Monday. I still haven't received some grades to the student system thingy where you can see your grades, but all exams are done. It's all about playing the waiting game with some of those grades. But I'm really happy that I passed that communications exam and therefore got the whole course through. It's been hanging there for about one year, but now it's gone. A weight has been lifted from my shoulders :)

Anyway, happy vacations to all and hopefully something will pop up on the work front next month :)

Busy busy busy

It's been a busy week yesterday, reading that dull school book. Hopefully I passed the exam though, but I have at least two more exams to do. And the one I'm terrified the most is tomorrow, the Cisco lab exam. I'm just about to leave to the lab to pratice for the exam. Hopefully I'll learn something, as it's the last chance I get to learn the practical stuff.

On Friday I have an exam about project stuff. I need to start reading to that tomorrow, I don't want to mess up my mind by reading about it today. Getting the lab exam through is the most important thing to do before the summer.

But I have to be going now. I'll probably blog again on Friday or during the weekend. Laters.

Ramblings

Couldn't think of an better title for this blog post, as I don't really have much to write about. I'm done with the Visual Basic project, but I might do some changes to the report. Have to think about that more tomorrow, as I'm going to give it to the teacher on Tuesday. I made my part of the calculations for that operational accounting class today, so hopefully everything will be done for that course (more or less anyway) next week.

The latest Dr Who episode was brilliant too, and I was pleasantly surprised because I was a bit afraid that it would just suck after that Dalek episode. I'm glad that wasn't the case. And Dr Who Confidential kind of confirmed that we'll be seeing the Master sooner or later, can't wait to see him again :)

Oh yea, I bought some cell phones again. I guess I should get them next week, if everybody sends the phones in time and won't disappear for a vacation. That happened to me once, the seller just left for a short holiday without telling me anything. He promised to send the phone on a certain date, but it didn't arrive in time, so I started to think that maybe I got scammed. Luckily he contacted me a before I went to see the cops with the problem. But anyway, as I don't really have much to write about, I think this is enough for now.

Weekend time again

Yep, it's that time of the week again. Got some school stuff sorted out this week, and I have the cisco lab exam on the 17th of May. I can go to the lab to practice on the stuff on the 16th, so that's a relief. Hopefully everything will go fine and I'll pass it, after that there shouldn't be anything obligatory left to do regarding the CCNA studies. Although the instructor sent me a case study file and said I could do that. It's not a small job, but it would be shown to future CCNA students, so I might do that during the summer. I'm just too busy to work on it before the school ends.

I have to finish the Visual Basic project this weekend and I promised to do some of those math calculations too. So the weekend shouldn't be too boring (well, it will be pretty boring but not boring boring). Oh yea, and I have at least one exam on the 13th, maybe even two. Hopefully just one. I might get some more info about that later today, but I think it might strech out until next week. I'll enroll on the exam I'm sure to be doing and enroll later on to that other exam if needed to. But it's looking pretty good that I get the necessary 105 ECTS points before the school ends and that's the most important thing currently. Otherwise I might get into trouble in Australia when they check if I have the minimum amount of studies behind me.

Got some mail from Microsoft recently too, apparently there were some problems with the agreements papers I faxed to them last month and I needed to fax them again, but everything should be ok now. So that means the NDA is now officially on, and I need to be careful that I don't say anything that isn't public knowledge already.

But anyways, I just wrote this blog post because I got bored of gaming and such. But I'm feeling a bit more sleepy now than a couple of hours ago, so I think I'll be heading to bed soon. Jollemi signing out.

And so it started, the month of pain

Why the month of pain? Because classes at school are ending as the summer vacation is slowly starting up. This means that it's time to make exams and return assignments. Although I might only have two written exams this month, if I'm lucky. By written, I mean written on paper, as my last Cisco exam is like the rest of the Cisco exams, electronic. I do have that lab exam too, but when, is still a bit of an mystery. I hope that I'll know a bit more of that tomorrow as the last lab classes are then. It's a stressful time of the year for us students and I don't really want to even think about it that much. After this painful month, we're free to frolic the earth like happy little hobbits. Or sit around the office, working and stuff. I hope for the last one, I need the money more than I need a vacation. Although getting money and a vacation would be the dog's bollocks.

This week's Dr Who episode was absolutely brilliant. The Doctor went a bit wacko because of the Dalek. I guess the Time War where Daleks and Time Lords got wiped out was actually a bit more than he could chew. Who could blame him though. It was a really interesting story and shed a bit more light to the whole mystery that is the Time War. But I won't write about it more than this. Just hoping that people would see it, not read about it ;)

Anyway, I have a long day at the Cisco lab tomorrow. Should be getting my arse up, shave the excess beard (because it's so hard to do in the morning) and slowly head to bed. I need to read some Cisco stuff when I get back home tomorrow, as I want to be properly prepared for the 4th semester's final exam on Tuesday. Hopefully I'll get the damn Product Development exam results during next week, or with bad luck, I might end up taking two exams in one day. Argh, so much to do.
