The last week of April is starting
Yep, time seems to move so fast nowadays. I still can remember April fool's day like it was yesterday. I made some more progress on the Visual Basic project and it's now functioning like I wanted it to work. There are still some minor bugs left, but I have about 2 weeks to try and fix at least some of them. Although I'm not taking pressure about it. I consider the program to be finished now, and I'm only doing some fine tuning before printing the source code and attaching it to my report.
My Cisco studies have been advancing as well, although I couldn't do some module assignments on Thursday like I wanted to. For some reason Heikki (the instructor) decided that everybody else can do 3rd semester's assignments, but I can't do shit because I'm ahead of others and on the 4th semester already. But I have read all of the material available on the net, except the last module. I'll try to read that tomorrow and hopefully I can do all of the missing module assignments on Tuesday.
The 1st of May is also approaching, and here in Finland that's our students national get wasted day. I haven't got any plans, so dunno what I'll do. But I'm trying to save money anyway, so it's not a BAD THING™ if I just stay home and be sober. I could work on these current projects and on the upcoming one which has to do with my school's current student services.
This spring at school sure has been different from last year's spring, when I really didn't have shit to do. The class schedule is about as empty as it was last year, but we now have lots of stuff to do on our own time. That's pissing me off, but on the otherhand it's kind of cool that you can do some stuff at home too and don't have to drive to school.
Oh yea, and about Dr Who. This week's episode was pretty good, although Mickey firing a missile towards 10 Downing Street using the internet and Rose's mum's puter was a bit funny. Even if he logged into UNIT's website using a top secret password, it's still so god damn risky to put something like that on the net that I can't believe in a million years that any government would do that. But then again, it's just Dr Who.
One of the most interesting revelations from this week's episode was the preview of the upcoming Dalek episode. Apparently only one Dalek survived (the Skaro incident?) and ended up being a part of some alien museum exhibition. For some reason the Dalek activated and again a world was in peril because of a Dalek. I liked the new special effects, and I really am glad to hear the good old "Exterminate! Exterminate!" Dalek voice again. The unofficial story goes that Skaro wasn't infact destroyed, but the planet Antalin was. Daleks had foreseen Skaro's destruction, and decided to "dodge the bullet" by terraforming Antalin to look like Skaro. So Skaro still might be out there somewhere, and nobody else than the Daleks know it. But we have to wait for the next weekend's episode to really know what happened to the Daleks.
This was a long blog, but then again I haven't blogged in a while days. Hopefully at least a couple of readers are still awake. I'll try to make the next one shorter :)
I bid thee farewell, until the next time.
